Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Soundtrack - Volume 1 & 2

Even in the beginning 5 minutes of the first Episode, you will right away notice the amazing soundtrack for the 2199 series. It pays homage to the original series while being fresh and original in itself. The score is composed by Akira Miyagawa, and is broken into 3 discs. My brother was able to get 2 of the 3, as they can be rather expensive, so the 3rd will have to wait for the moment.

There's a lot of music on these discs, 46 tracks on Volume 1 and 44 on Volume 2. The clarity is excellent the sound is clear and loud, much nicer than the tracks found on Youtube. I've played them on my Dad's big stereo system and you really get the feeling of being in the orchestra, this sense of awe and excitement that you originally felt while watching the show.

Although they are 99% all in Japanese, CD's are universal unlike DVD's so they will play on any system, they have these cute tabs on the sides with advertisements on the inside, booklets inside featuring scenes from the show and a write up I cannot translate. However I did find a write up here on ourstarblazers.com . This is a fantastic website full of Yamato 2199 material and translations, I highly suggest you add it to you favourites page, you'll be visiting it often.
