If you recall to the 70's when Star Wars came out for the first time and became a hit phenomena. Everyone had to have everything Star Wars. Well at the time Kenner, had the license for the franchise and realized the huge demand for these figures. And they began to make every figure! I think everyone has a Pruneface figure, and until a few months ago I didn't even believe that he was in the movie, well Bandai has kinda dome something similar.
The Promelia Astro Assault Carrier, doesn't exactly have a long part in the series, but a memorable one. In Episode 2 this ship is seen attacking the Yamato, while it's undercover on the Earth. It fires a beam from it's center, also releasing the DWG 229 attack fighters. Th instructions also show a blue version, but I cannot remember which episode this version was featured. The paint diagram features only the Green version.
Bandai did a fantastic job on this kit, as usual. And as usual it's molded in seperate colors for those who wish to simply build and display the kit. For those who want to take it a lever further Banadi included a lot of great detail. It also includes two 1:1000 DWG 229's. But there's no display stand for them, or any other way to pose them.
The Mecha kit is really cool a DWG 229. What I really like with the Garmilla fighters, is that they are named after German WWII aircraft. The Gotha 229, or "Flying Wing" was clearly the inspiration for the DWG 229, borrowing the same numbers. I nice little addition. The kit it pretty big and features a lot of detail, I'm eager to build this one up. It also has it's own little display stand.
This is a big kit. The D part Dome is a Mammoth in it's size and thick plastic. And a metal rod is included for the display stand, it's gratefully needed. I don't think this kit is on everyone's list but it's definitely worth it!
