Warhammer: Bretonnia, Grail Knight

Hello everyone, Das Wolfgarde here again. Bringing you more Warhammer and Warhammer 40000 models. This time of the Warhammer universe.

This is a Bretonnia, Grail Knight. Basically a knight of the holy grail with special powers. I bought this guy on the whim awhile back and thought he be fun to paint. Which it was, and wasn't...

The knight himself is made of white metal while the horse is made of plastic. The metal was easy to clean of any flash, and after some bending to fix the lance he was all ready to be primed and painted. Now, what made this a difficult model to do was the fact that, after the green cloak was painted and the highlights added I decided to add the silver vine work on the cloth. That was harder and took longer that I expected. But after a while i managed to find a rhythm and paint it all. After all that was done I added the grail and demi-griffon on the shields on the side of the horse, those turned out to be easier than all the vine work on the cloth. When all the painting of the model was finished, I stuck it to the top of a cookie jar lid and applied 'green-stuff' to the base to give it an earthy feel. Painted it up and added some turf and called it finished.

Despite all the difficulty building and painting this model, the paint itself and the fact that the rider didn't fin in it's saddle. I had allot of fun with this one. I have no intention on building one again for a while, but I wouldn't mind doing it.

Hope you enjoy.
